The Oregon Non-Profit Employers Trust (ONET)
is a workers compensation alternative
for those charitable nonprofit institutions
that look to reduce the cost of their
workers' compensation program by utilizing
risk management best practices for implementing
change.
The result of a true grass-roots movement
by Oregon nonprofit executives, ONET began
its operations in 2002 using a grant from
the State of Oregon. Since that time the
ONET program has become recognized for
the services it provides for those nonprofits
that meet ONET underwriting criteria.
The program is a rare opportunity for
charitable organizations to reduce their
long-term administration costs during
times of financial uncertainty.
ONET members have saved thousands of dollars
a year in their workers compensation costs,
and this savings has not come by accident:
ONET takes tremendous pride in its commitment
to excellence and innovation. The level
of participant control of claims handling
is far greater than organizations have
with traditional insurance carriers. The
behavioral-based loss prevention services
are industry specific and tailored for
each individual organization, and the
partnership styled on-site safety consulting
results in the lessening of claims frequency.
Our mission statement says it all:
To provide
our members long-term access to
superior risk management services,
the quality in which is measured
by our ability to lower their
cost of risk over time and to
provide our sponsoring associations
membership services that add value
to the benefits of membership
in their organizations while assisting
them in reaching their membership
goals.
